The Problem

Solis alarm 1023: Abnormal display of DC bus voltage

Solis alarm code 1023 usually means the inverter has detected an abnormal DC bus voltage reading or that the DC bus voltage is too low. The DC bus is part of the inverter’s internal power conversion system, helping manage solar energy before it is converted into usable AC power.

Alarm code 1023 may appear as:

  • UN-BUS02
  • UN-BUS

When this happens, the inverter may stop operating or disconnect from the system to protect its internal components.

This is not a normal operating message and should not be ignored if it keeps coming back. It may be linked to low DC input voltage, internal voltage regulation issues, PV input problems, inverter hardware behaviour or another fault affecting the inverter’s power conversion system.

The Solution

Let e-Solar check your inverter and DC bus voltage

If the alarm appears once and clears after a restart, the inverter may have recovered from a temporary voltage condition.

If Solis alarm 1023 keeps returning, it is worth having the system checked. Our Perth-based solar team can inspect the inverter, review the DC input and help determine whether the issue is linked to low input voltage, DC bus behaviour, PV string conditions, inverter hardware or internal voltage regulation.

Contact e-Solar and let us know:

  • The exact error code on the screen or app
  • When the code appears
  • Whether your solar production has dropped
  • Your inverter model, if you know it

Do not open the inverter or attempt internal electrical testing yourself. If the issue is persistent, a qualified solar technician may need to test DC input voltage, inspect PV strings and assess whether the inverter requires repair, warranty support or replacement.
