Fronius Inverter Error Code 736
Fronius error 736: USB flash drive write or read error
Fronius error code 736 usually means the inverter has detected a write or read error with the connected USB flash drive.
This can happen during a firmware update, data logging or file transfer process when the inverter cannot properly read from or write to the USB device.
This issue can often be linked to an unsupported USB flash drive, incorrect file system, password protection, read or write protection, or a faulty USB device.
Let e-Solar check your inverter and firmware update
If Fronius error code 736 appears during a firmware update or data transfer, the inverter may not be communicating correctly with the USB flash drive.
This issue can often be linked to a USB drive using the wrong format, such as NTFS instead of FAT32, a password-protected device, read or write protection, or an incompatible flash drive.
If the code keeps returning, the update will not complete, or your inverter is no longer operating normally, it is worth having the system checked.
Our Perth solar experts can check the firmware process, assess whether the USB setup is suitable, and identify whether the issue is linked to inverter software, USB communication, data logging or another system fault.
Contact e-Solar and let us know:
- The exact error code on the screen or app
- When the code appears
- Whether your solar production has dropped
- Your inverter model, if you know it
Do not repeatedly interrupt firmware updates or remove the USB flash drive while the inverter is reading or writing data. This can sometimes create additional software, logging or communication issues.
