Growatt error 202: DC input voltage exceeds maximum tolerated value
Growatt error code 202 usually means the inverter has detected DC input voltage that exceeds the maximum safe operating limit.
When this happens, the inverter may shut down or stop producing power to protect internal components from damage.
This type of fault is commonly linked to solar string voltage being too high for the inverter. In some systems, this can happen due to incorrect panel configuration, string design issues, installation faults or voltage increases during colder weather conditions.
Solar panel voltage naturally rises as temperatures drop, which means a system that appears close to the inverter voltage limit may exceed the safe range during cold mornings or seasonal temperature changes.
Growatt single-phase inverters commonly operate up to around 550V DC, while some three-phase models may operate up to around 1100V DC depending on the inverter model and design.
